Friday night improv just got better; it’s now Big Dang Friday! First Fridays of the month feature long-standing improv house team, One Shared Brain Cell, and the one-man improvised musical Fugue State!
One Shared Brain Cell performs the iconic Slacker format popularized by Beer Shark Mice, where the scene can break wide open on a dime via the ‘tag-out’ rule. This is a relentless, character-driven comedy, engineered for rapid-fire exploration of location and persona with zero warning. Get ready for a seamless, spontaneous night of theatre that keeps you guessing until the final blackout. One Shared Brain Cell features Laurel Darowski, Zachary Berrera, Robert Patton, Bertha Munuku, Kaylyn Wold, Lindsay Lindeman, Kamryn Thompson, Matt Flanagan, and Winter Bishop. The team is coached by Hayden McGovern.
In Fugue State, one man and one pianist create a one-of-a-kind musical on the spot! Stomping Ground Training Center Director and veteran performer Greg Mihalik improvises a musical by himself with the help of esteemed accompanist and musical director Joshua Diamond. Watch in wonder as Greg takes the audience on a musical journey that follows the path of several unique, larger-than-life characters all played by one man. Come see what the Dallas Observer called “a one-man show that’s actually impressive.”
Rated M for Mature/18+. Ticket prices are $10 (plus fees) in advance and $14 at the door. Stomping Ground is BYOB.
