Level Five Improv: Long Form Improvisation

Learn how to create unique worlds full of vibrant characters as an ensemble!

In this seven week class, students will learn The Harold, the original long form developed by Del Close and Charna Halpern at iO Theatre. Students will practice generating ideas from a suggestion, finding the game of the scene and expanding those games into 2nd and 3rd beats, and exploring themes and ideas throughout the piece as an ensemble. This class includes a student showcase. The prerequisite for this class is Level Four at Stomping Ground or equivalent experience with permission from the Training Center Director.

This course will focus on:

  • Working as an Ensemble & Ultimate Group Support
  • The Game of the Scene
  • Openings
  • 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Beats
  • Group Games
  • Performing the Show

This is a 7 week recurring in-person course held Sundays, 12-2:30PM starting Sunday, September 11th. The instructor is Greg Mihalik. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable but enrollment can be deferred to a future class. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older.
