Sketch Writing Level One Intensive: Introduction to Comedy Writing

This intensive weekend writing course will introduce students to sketch comedy starting with character monologues. Students will learn the basics of comedy writing and then use them to generate funny scenarios and interesting characters from scratch. On Sunday, students will revise and refine their material with feedback while learning how to put their work on stage, culminating in a showcase of monologues and scenes on Sunday night at 8pm. There is no prerequisite for this course.

- Generating & pitching funny ideas
- Script structure
- Character Monologues
- Acting Basics & Staging
This is a two day weekend intensive on Saturday, August 13th from 10am-5pm and Sunday, August 14th from 10am-5pm with a showcase on August 14th at 8pm. The instructor is Kristal Milazzo. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable but enrollment can be deferred to a future class. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook.
