Musical Improv Level Two: Making Meaningful Songs & Scenes

Learn to Earn the Song in Every Scene and Turn Every Song into a Musical Number!

This seven week course will focus on creating meaningful scenes and songs in the moment.   Students will learn to earn the song in every scene with strong characters and emotional points of view.  Students will learn a variety of new structures such as tagline songs and trios to keep their songs fresh and fabulous.  Finally, students will practice supporting the scene, turning every song into a full musical number!  This class includes a showcase.  The prerequisite for this class is Musical Improv Level One.  Some experience in improvised scene work is recommended.

  • Song Structures:  Chorus/Verse, Tag Line Songs, & Trios
  • Earning the Song:  Scenes that Matter
  • Character/POV Solo Songs
  • Supporting the Scene & Song
  • Group Scenes & Numbers
  • Showcase Form:  Musical Harold

All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable but enrollment can be deferred to a future term. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older to enroll, unless otherwise stated.
