Once a quarter, we have a big, happy meeting open to students, performers, staff, and anyone interested in knowing what’s happening and what’s coming up at Stomping Ground. Here’s a quick rundown of what we discussed at our Q2 all-hands in April.
New merch has arrived!

- We will be having a FLASH SALE for old merch soon
We renewed our lease through 2027
Next steps in SG growth (next 1-2 years)
- adding supplementary training space for classes
- will be in the immediate area around SG
- will free up the theater and allow more classes and more shows
New scholarship program
- only for levels 1 – 5 improv, no other classes
- limited spots, 11 in total for the year (currently about half taken)
- applications will open every other term
- let us know if you know of anyone who would be a good fit and encourage them to apply

Incubator program
- 2 – 3 improv teams with coaches
- students can sign up and then will be chosen by lottery
- July will be rehearsals
- August will be shows
- everything happens on Sunday nights
- will hope to continue in Sept – Oct
- will be a musical one eventually

Upcoming sexual harassment training
- Thursday, May 16 at 7 pm
- mandatory for staff, volunteers, and interns but anyone is welcome to attend
- customized just for us and what we do
Throwdown

Queer variety show
- submissions open this week
- we love variety, doesn’t have to be comedy
- must be queer or trans-identifying
PRIDE
- June 1 – 2

- we will have a vendor table and parade float
- the committee will be asking for volunteers
House team auditions in Aug
- must have finished level 5
- Tentative audition date set for August 17

- it’s like our Academy Awards

48-Hour Laugh-a-thon
- Feb 28 – March 2, 2025
Long Saturday student showcases
- showcases will be held on a single day at the end of each term (except level 5 sandboxes)

Include urgency and response requests in emails to all staff
- when you email staff, include things like URGENT, RESPONSE REQUIRED, ACTION ITEM, etc if you need an immediate reply
- or things like FYI, NO RESPONSE NEEDED, etc if you don’t need any reply
- we all work part-time and may not sit down to reply to emails every day
