Friday night improv just got better; it’s now Big Dang Friday! The January 26 show features 8I8HT 8Y8S and Fugue State: A One-Man Improvised Musical.
8I8HT 8Y8S is an improv duo featuring masters of metamorphosis, Andrew Wermelskirchen and Hayden McGovern, that delves into the depths of human connection. Witness as these comedic chameleons take an audience story and then weave intimate scenes exploring themes of love, loss, joy, and the yearning for understanding. They’ll seamlessly transform from bumbling office workers to sassy grandmas and everything in between all in the blink of an eye.
In Fugue State, one man and one pianist create a one-of-a-kind musical on the spot! Stomping Ground Training Center Director and veteran performer Greg Mihalik improvises a musical by himself with the help of esteemed accompanist and musical director Joshua Diamond. Watch in wonder as Greg takes the audience on a musical journey that follows the path of several unique, larger-than-life characters all played by one man. Come see what the Dallas Observer called “a one-man show that’s actually impressive.”
Rated M for Mature/18+. Ticket prices are $10 (plus fees) in advance and $14 at the door. Stomping Ground is BYOB. Alcoholic beverages are allowed for all attendees over 21 years old; patrons are asked to enjoy them responsibly.
