This is an after school program open to middle school and high school students at The Winston School. This class is for anyone interested in finding the funny in a judgement free zone. No theater experience necessary! The therapeutic benefits that are naturally embedded in the learning and performing process of improvisational comedy parallel the needs of a person with autism and unique needs. Each class is customized with hand-picked improv games that benefit students and their needs. While having fun and lots of laughs, students will also be practicing social and communication skills while gaining confidence and emotional awareness. Students will be introduced to the world of improv comedy. Students will also be introduced to the world of improv comedy and will learn basic agreement, guidelines, and scene work.

Stomping Ground Comedy Theater & Training Center is a nonprofit comedy theater whose mission is to enrich the community through comedy and is proud to offer programs for those with unique needs throughout the community. Our instructors have over 100 years combined experience and have trained at Second City, iO, Groundlings, and more. Our Improv for Life Program Director, Andrea Kyprianou Baum, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is trained in Improv. This program will be taught by Stomping Grounds Unique Needs Improv Instructor and Sydney Daly an educator and drama therapist in training .
