The Michael Chekhov Acting Technique is a perfect complement to Improvisation, and Using tools gleaned from the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique, this workshop will explore ways of creating vibrant, fully formed, full bodied characters instantly. Participants do not need to be familiar with Michael Chekhov to enjoy a fun and physical introduction to his technique including centers, thinking/feeling/willing, and imaginary body. You’ll leave this workshop with powerful tools you can employ immediately. Dress to MOVE.
Merri Brewer is the Managing Director of Theatre Three in Dallas, Texas. Formerly, she was the Producing Director at Creative Arts Theatre & School in Arlington, Texas. Merri is an accomplished teaching artist, director and actor in the DFW area and is represented for broadcast by The Campbell Agency. She’s been doing improv in DFW for 20+ years (Guava Bomblettes, Lone Star Comedy, The Usual Suspects) and Stomping Ground audiences have seen her work in Cuddlefish and Swipe Right. She is certified to teach by the National Michael Chekhov Association.
