Duo-prov, or two-person improv, can be the most profound, intimate, and challenging improvisation you’ll ever experience, as well as the most rewarding! Whether its a twenty-minute monoscene, a musical narrative, or a fast-paced montage creating and sharing characters, Duoprov can broaden and deepen your improv like nothing else!
In this two-day, weekend intensive, brand new and already established duos will have a chance to dig into what makes their brand of improv unique, combining voices, while also learning some new skills and tricks to build their first format or freshen up their current show! Students will practice playing longer scenes, three-dimensional characters, and other skills necessary to sustain a long form performance with only one other person! In the second half of the class, students will practice and perform their own original format with feedback focused on their strengths as a pair, culminating in a Sunday night showcase.
This weekend intensive is recommended for improv partners who have completed a training program and each have at least one year of training and/or performance experience. Students who have not completed Level Five Improv at Stomping Ground Comedy Theater should email the Training Center Director (education@stompinggroundcomedy.org) with their previous experience.
Note: This workshop is intended for new and/or existing improv duos. Duos must enroll together through Eventbrite in order to be registered for this class. No single enrollments will be accepted. If there are issues enrolling together, please contact the Training Center Director with the names of both individuals.
