Level Two Improv: Fundamentals of Improvised Scenes

In this seven week course, students will learn to create scenes using object work, agreement, and using specific dialogue to create a grounded base reality for their scenes.  Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of long form scene work with a focus on solid two person scenes.  This class includes a student showcase. The prerequisite for this class is Level 1 at Stomping Ground or the equivalent course work in another training center.

This course will focus on: 

  • Creating a Base Reality (Who, What, Where)
  • Object Work & Creating an Environment
  • Strategies for Initiating Meaningful Scenes
  • Jumping & Justifying & the why of the scene
  • Finding & Heightening Patterns in Scenes
  • Showcase Form – The Armando:  Creating Scenes inspired by a Truth Based Monologue
