Introduction to Clowning!

Discover Your Inner Clown in this Fun and Engaging Class!

The art form of clowning has a rich tradition which has existed for centuries and with many variations! Studying clowning can enrich a comedian’s performance and add a whole new vocabulary and skill set to their comedic toolbelt! In this seven-week class, students will learn the fundamentals of clown. Students will explore ways to interact and use their environment as a clown and how to interact and engage with their audience. This class includes a showcase. There is no prerequisite for the class, but experience in improvisation, stand up, or theater is preferred.

This course will focus on:

  • Discovering your clown persona
  • Finding ways to play with fellow clowns as well as audience members
  • Using physical comedy, props, and exaggerated facial features
  • Connecting with your audience
  • Finding joy in performing

All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable but enrollment can be deferred to a future term. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older to enroll, unless otherwise stated.
