Level Two Improv: Fundamentals of Improvised Scenes

Learn how to create engaging and meaningful two person scenes!

In this seven week course, students will learn to create scenes using object work, agreement, and specific dialogue to create a grounded base reality for their scenes. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of long form scene work with a focus on solid two person scenes. This class includes a student showcase. The prerequisite for this class is Level One at Stomping Ground or equivalent experience with permission from the Training Center Director.

This course will focus on:

  • Creating a Base Reality (Who, What, Where)
  • Object Work & Creating an Environment
  • Strategies for Initiating Meaningful Scenes
  • Jumping & Justifying & the why of the scene
  • Showcase Form – The Armando: Creating Scenes inspired by a Truth Based Monologue

This is a 7 week recurring in-person course held Mondays from 7-9:30PM starting Monday, April 29th. The instructor is Kimber Martin. All sales are final. Listed price of class does not include Eventbrite’s service fee (3.7% + $1.79) and payment processing fee (2.9%) which will be added to the total price at checkout. Classes are non-refundable but enrollment may be deferred to a future class with TCD approval. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older.
