Advanced Improv: Organic Improvisation

Transform Your Scenes and Shows with this Inspiration Driven Approach to Improv!

Wednesdays, 7-9:30pmIn Person

Organic Improv is an exciting way for improvisers to get out of their own heads and comfort zones and break through their performance habits into new possibilities!  In this advanced seven-week course, students will learn and practice the skills needed to find the inspiration from the moment to weave individual scenes together into larger and more complex pieces that engage and surprise audiences.   This class includes a run of shows in September.   The prerequisite for this class is Level Five Improv at Stomping Ground or permission from the Training Center Director.

This course will focus on:

  • Exploring suggestions in different ways as an ensemble.
  • Using organic edits and openings to morph and connect scenes.
  • Finding inspiration in physicality and the architecture of the stage.
  • Creating callbacks and connections from organic discoveries and simple sameness.
  • Using “Challenges” to create fun and engaging performance formats.
